The Family Record Book is a mini civil record belonging to the person concerned, and can be obtained by the husband or wife, and includes the husband’s name, his details, and the name of the wife and children along with their information
The legal importance of the Family Record Book:
- Proving the marital relationship
- Prove the rights of family members in terms of descent and inheritance
- It helps family members obtain the benefits provided by the state, such as education, health, and humanitarian aid
- Providing the courts with the necessary data when necessary
- Show it when you intend to travel abroad to perform the pilgrimage, and other procedures related to establishing a family relationship
Procedures for obtaining a Family Record Book:
- After documenting marriage in court and obtaining a certified copy of the contract or judgment court to confirm the marriage, the husband visits the Civil Registry Secretariat, accompanied with his ID and two personal photos, to obtain the Family Record Book
- The husband must also visit the Civil Registry and accompany the family card to record all incidents of births and others
- It is worth noting that it is possible to obtain a Family Record Book instead of a lost one according to a police report
- The Family Record Book is also given in lieu of a damaged one without police report, provided that the damaged Family Record Book is submitted
